Once
You Arrive on Maui
You made it, your luggage made it, the rental car was ready for
you, and the drive to Kahana is going to be a breeze!
Now
what … ?
If you’re staying with us for
awhile, you might want to consider stocking up on a few things before
getting to your condo. As you leave the airport you will be on Dairy
Road and you will find many stores you recognize from back home:
COSTCO, Walmart, K-mart, Lowe’s, Home Depot – where
you can stock up on anything you might need.
For
grocery stores we recommend three on the island. These stores are
all very close to the condo and offer name brand shopping. You will
find everything from ice coolers to sushi.
Safeway
– Located in Lahaina at the Cannery Mall – located only
about 10 minutes drive from the condo.
Star Market –
Located in Kahana - located only about 2 - 3 minutes drive from
the condo.
Napili Market - Located
in Napili Plaza - located only about 3 - 4 minutes drive from the
condo.
You will also find many smaller locally owned
convenience stores, liquor stores, etc … to pick up your everyday
sundries. The Gateway Shopping Center in Kahana is a great location
for these businesses – located just steps from the condo.
Don't
want to be bothered with cooking ... after all this is your vacation.
Here are some
of our favorite spots.
China Boat Restaurant
- 1/2 Block away on Lower Honoapiilani Road - Turn LEFT out of the
parking lot and walk a short distance. Restaurant on RIGHT. Good
Chinese Food.
Roy's Kahana Bar & Grill
- In the Gateway Shopping Center - "Hawaiian Fusion" cuisine
— a tempting combination of exotic flavors and spices mixed
with the freshest of local ingredients, always with an emphasis
on seafood.
Maui Brewing Co. -
Located in the Gateway Shopping Center - GREAT Burgers, Ribs and
local micro-brews.
Ma La Restaurant -
Located behind the Cannery Mall in Lahaina on Front Street (behind
Safeway Grocery Store) - Casual dining - "California Cuisine

- Located in Lahaina on Front Street - FUN place for a beer and burger
at sunset.
Chez Paul -Located
just 4 miles South of Lahaina - Established in 1968 it is the oldest
French Restaurant in the Pacific. Be prepared to spend a few bucks
... but the food is wonderful ... well worth it.
Dollies Pizza –
Located just a few steps away from the condo on Lower Honoapiilani
Road. Great pizza … eat it there or bring it back to the condo.
Gazebo Restaurant
– Located in Napili Shores - This little gem
sits right on the water and is packed with people so get there early.
We highly recommend this location.
Mama’s Fish House
– Located 1 1/2 miles past Paia Town (on the oceanside) –
East Hwy 36 – Hana Highway – "Set in a 'drop-dead
beautiful' former beach house with Polynesian décor and an
excellent ocean view, this Kuau destination is the 'gold standard
of seafood restaurants'... despite being a bit pricey, so many feel
that it never disappoints that its been voted the most popular restaurant
on Maui." (Zagat Survey)
If shopping
is your bag (pun intended) you are in for a treat. You are within
minutes to all of these great shopping destinations

the beach so you can swim dine and shop all in the same day. This
shopping paradise boasts some of the best shopping in all of Maui.

Most of the high-end galleries can be found in Lahaina. These galleries

Hilo Hattie's –
Located in Lahaina, it is known throughout the island as "the
